Medical Definition of FRIAR'S BALSAM
: an alcoholic solution containing essentially benzoin, storax, balsam of Tolu, and aloes used chiefly as a local application (as for small fissures) and after addition to hot water as an inhalant (as in laryngitis)—called also compound benzoin tincture
